KEY MACHINERY AND APPLICATION POINTS

Plastic Sheet Extrusion Lines

TorcUP solutions are used by manufacturers of products such as replacement windows.

  • Tooling: A TX-2 low-profile hydraulic wrench equipped with an inline extension reaction arm is utilized on these sheet extrusion lines.

Die Changing and Injection Molding

Maintaining the "round injection tips" or cylinders in these heated applications requires specialized high-torque bolting.

  • Application: Changing dies typically involves loosening and tightening Allen head bolts located on the end of the cylinder.

  • Recommended Tooling:

    • TU-3 square drive hydraulic wrench with Allen sockets.

    • TX-4 low-profile hydraulic wrench using Allen stock.

    • VT-3000 battery-powered tool, which is often preferred for its speed when applicable.

  • Specialized Needs: A "single tip die" may require a larger TX-4 link and a side paddle reaction system.

Plastic Extruder Maintenance

Specific bolting challenges exist on the underside of plastic extruders, which often require working in an inverted position.

  • Application: Tightening and loosening countersunk socket head cap screws.

  • The Solution: The RP-2000 Raptor series pneumatic torque wrench was successfully used for this task.

  • Custom Accessory: To facilitate the inverted work, a custom-designed reaction arm was employed featuring a magnetized reaction pin to keep the tool securely in place.
