OIL & GAS
WHERE OUR PROVEN BOLTING SOLUTIONS SET THE STANDARD IN CRITICAL APPLICATIONS
TorcUP tools serve a wide array of sectors within the oil and gas industry, including drilling, offshore operations, fracking, midstream processing, and pipeline maintenance. Specific applications involve wellhead companies managing BOP stacks, valve rebuilding, and gas transmission.
KEY MACHINERY AND APPLICATION POINTS
Fracking and Well Testing
In hydraulic fracturing (fracking) and well testing, the TX-8 low-profile hydraulic wrench is utilized for its high power, such as breaking loose 2 3/4" nuts at 4500 lbf-ft where competitor tools have failed. These stimulation treatments involve pumping high-pressure fluids to open vertical fractures in reservoirs to enhance flow. The TX series is also essential for well workover and intervention to bypass near-wellbore damage.
Gas Compression and Infrastructure
For gas compression facilities, the TX series is used during the maintenance and re-boring of massive units like the Ingersoll Rand 410 KVT compressor. Extremely high-torque tasks on natural gas compressor inlets, which involve 6 1/2" nuts and 58 lb studs, are handled by the TX-32 at torque values up to 15,000 lbf-ft. Other infrastructure applications include:
-
Filter Skid Vessels: On-site assembly of these vessels is performed using the RP-3000 pneumatic wrench, which can complete bolting a 24" flange at a target torque of 1650 lbf-ft in approximately 20 minutes.
-
Slug Catchers: The TX-8 is used to bolt blind flanges on these units.
-
Fabrication: Tools are used by fabricators for pig launchers, receivers, and metering sleds.

Offshore and Subsea
For offshore and subsea work, the Optimus line of bolt tensioning tools is designed specifically for divers operating in harsh underwater environments. These tools are manufactured from high-strength stainless steel and offer high load capacities to satisfy API 17D - 10k flange requirements.
