KEY MACHINERY AND APPLICATION POINTS
Forging Presses

Application: In one forge shop, a 4,000-ton forging press required regular bolting of die plates.

The Challenge: Clearance was extremely limited because the press had to be closed onto the dies to bolt them in place.

The Solution: A TU-3 hydraulic wrench set to 800 lbf-ft was used for this task. While the bottom dies were easily accessible, the top dies required a special boot added to the reaction arm to establish a secure reaction point.
Stamping Presses
TorcUP tools are used for specialized production and maintenance in various stamping press environments:

Specialized Metal Parts: For a stamping press that turns sintered metal into artificial shoulders and knees, the VT-500 battery-powered tool is used at 375 lbf-ft to torque down the upper die.

Safety and Efficiency: In larger machines, such as those at Schneider's Electric, the VT-6000 allows a technician to be lowered inside the machine to torque bolts. This eliminates the safety hazards and logistical challenges of trailing hydraulic lines or air hoses inside the press.
