CRANES
WHERE OUR PROVEN BOLTING SOLUTIONS SET THE STANDARD IN CRITICAL APPLICATIONS
TorcUP provides a variety of industrial bolting solutions specifically designed for the assembly and maintenance of different types of cranes, ranging from massive tower cranes to mobile
truck-mounted units.
KEY MACHINERY AND APPLICATION POINTS
Tower Cranes
Tower crane maintenance relies heavily on portability and high torque. The VT Series (Volta battery-powered tools), including models from the VT-1000 up to the VT-6000, are preferred for these applications. To handle the unique geometry of tower crane bolts, specialized accessories are used:
-
Right Angle Gear Box (RPA-RAGB): Allows the RP and VT to fit into restricted spaces.
-
Custom Reaction Arms: A variety of specialized arms (e.g., RPA-60-TCRA and RPA-60-ALL CRANE-415) are designed to react safely against crane structures.
Mobile and Truck-Mounted Cranes
Different mobile crane manufacturers require specific tool configurations for their rotation bearings and structural components:
-
Grove Truck Mounted Mobile Cranes: For bolting the main bearing (ring gear) to the crane's welded structure, the TX-2 low-profile hydraulic wrench is used. The typical process involves using a pneumatic tool to run the bolts up, then finishing them with the TX-2 at approximately 883 lbf-ft.
-
TEREX Truck Mounted Cranes: The Raptor 500 pneumatic torque wrench, often paired with a nose extension, is utilized for the inner rotation bearing bolts.
General Crane Applications
Across heavy equipment, mining, and steel mill industries, TorcUP tools address several critical crane bolting points:
-
Slew Rings (Rotation Bearings): Essential for the crane's ability to rotate under load.
-
Anchor and Mount Bolts: Used to secure the crane to its base or truck chassis.
-
Hydraulic Cylinders: High-torque bolting is required for the assembly and repair of lifting cylinders.
-
Facility and Steel Mill Cranes: Overhead and facility cranes require regular maintenance of their structural and mechanical bolts to ensure safety and reliability.
