Celebrating 14 Years of Bolting Tool Technology with TorcUP

It is hard to imagine at the start of any company what it can be, what its potential is.  Back in 1996, John Kovacs had an idea, which, in a short twelve years, became a worldwide corporation and an industry trendsetter.  Kovacs had the right ingredients for success from the beginning – the attitude, the ideas, the drive, the discipline and the passion.  Building on what he knew, he took a tool concept and a “mobile” office and became a company.

With humble beginnings out of a trunk, Kovacs sought the right people to bring his idea to reality.  He took his first two tools, a TU-3 Square Drive Hydraulic Wrench and a TX-4 Low Profile Hydraulic Wrench and hit the streets.  He showed the tool to the people that wanted options and had the need.  From there, he established a small office, hired a staff of one, and continued the run a simple operation.  His process was simple – build the tool, sell the tool, ship the tool, maintain the tool.  It was all about the tool.  It was his opinion from the beginning to do what you do best and the rest will come.

Kovacs expanded the size of TorcUP’s offices slowly, moving and upgrading as the need arose.  He never got beyond what was necessary, and never lost sight of what was important.  Through the years, his financial discipline was key to the development of TorcUP and its staff, its relationships with customers and vendors and its success.  Today, TorcUP’s Worldwide Headquarters sits on a two-acre site, with a 25,000 square foot building.  He has expanded the staff exponentially, to meet customer needs quickly and accurately.  Kovacs’ passion for TorcUP is seen every day and is passed on to those surrounding him, and that passion clearly comes through in his products.

Starting with two lines of hydraulic wrenches, TorcUP has expanded its product line to include a full range of tools to meet all your industrial bolting needs.  With a dedicated staff, an experienced sales force, a worldwide presence and a quality line of tools, TorcUP and John Kovacs are proudly enjoying Fourteen years of an amazing ride and looking forward to many more, because neither is done growing yet!     MADE IN THE USA!
